Over the course of his long career, Christian Wallumrød has expressed himself across a wide range of genres, including jazz, folk music, contemporary music, and improvisation. He is known for his many diverse ensemble projects, but in recent years he has translated his distinctive musical voice into the piano format.

With the albums Pianokammer (2015), Speaksome (2021), and Percolation (2025), Wallumrød has delved deeply into the piano’s tonal and rhythmic possibilities. His music draws inspiration, textures, and beats from American and Norwegian folk music, contemporary music, and other forms of beautiful sound.

“Wallumrød’s ability to erase the boundaries between contemporary music and ancient heritage is exceptional. It is clever and playful, but above all, it is beautiful.”
— Arild R. Andersen, Aftenposten

Welcome to an intimate concert with Christian Wallumrød alone at the piano.
