Breath & Opera at the Vigeland Museum
Beneath the powerful vaulted ceiling, surrounded by Gustav Vigeland’s monumental sculptures, a space is created where breathwork and opera intertwine in a rare and sensory experience.
Circular breathing is accompanied by sacred tones and warm hands moving across the piano keys.
The interplay of sound and breath touches the inner landscape, inviting both emotional and physical movement.
Welcome to an hour that opens the senses. Join us and breathe with us at the Vigeland Museum.

Breath & Opera at the Vigeland Museum is a collaboration between breathwork therapist Fredrik Fernando Austad and opera singer Nina Alexandra Barretto.
Fredrik Fernando Austad is a breathwork therapist and coach, using the breath as a tool for positive change in body and mind. Through simple and effective techniques, he supports health, presence, and balance in the nervous system - within therapy, in organizational work, and in collaboration with artists and cultural institutions. His practice also explores the intersection of breath and art, where increased presence can deepen the experience of music and visual expression.
Nina Alexandra Barretto is an opera singer trained at Barratt Due and the Oslo National Academy of the Arts (KHiO), with a strong connection to the stage since joining the Norwegian National Opera’s children’s choir at the age of eight. With a classical foundation, she works across genres - from church music to DJing within hip-hop and rap, and collaborations with jazz musicians and other artistic expressions. Through her work, she seeks to use music as a force for presence, community, and peace.
