Welcome to Oslo Culture Night 2026 at the Vigeland Museum! This evening, the museum will be open from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM with free admission.

Price: Free admission to the museum (some activities have limited capacity)
Capacity: The event itself has no attendance limit and cannot sell out. Guided tours have limited capacity: 15 participants for tours of Vigeland’s artist’s home and 30 participants for the curator-led tour of Monolithos. Tickets for guided tours will be distributed from the museum reception starting at 4:00 PM. Advance reservations are not available. The stone-carving workshop required advance registration and is fully booked.

Explore the museum’s permanent collection featuring the original plaster models of the iconic sculptures in Vigeland Park, as well as several of Gustav Vigeland’s early works, monuments, and portrait busts.

There will also be guided tours of Gustav Vigeland’s apartment on the third floor, where the interior has been preserved as the artist designed it, complete with furniture, textiles, and decorative details created by Vigeland himself.

In addition, we invite you to join a curator-led tour of the exhibition Monolithos, where you can experience works spanning the entire career of artist Kristian Blystad.

4:00 PM – Doors open. Free tickets for all guided tours are distributed at the reception desk (first come, first served).
4:00 PM to 6:00 PM – Stone-carving workshop for children with SA Steinskulptur (fully booked)
6:00 PM to 7:00 PM – Curator-led tour of Monolithos with curators Lill K. Stensrud and Marte Grette (Norwegian, capacity 30)
7:00 PM – Guided tour of the artist’s residence (Norwegian, capacity 15)
8:00 PM – Guided tour of the artist’s residence (Norwegian, capacity 15)
9:00 PM – Guided tour of the artist’s residence (Norwegian, capacity 15)
9:45 PM – Last admission to the museum.
10:00 PM – Museum closes. Thank you for visiting!
