Sinnataggen temporarily removed
On the night of Tuesday 6 April 2021, someone tried to saw over the left ankle of the sculpture. Sinnataggen is therefore now being removed from the bridge for examinations and conservation. As soon as the work is done he will be placed back in his place. This is damage to a protected cultural monument and the matter will be reported to the police.
- We want the audience to have close access to the art of Vigeland and it is a pity that this happens. We hope to resolve the matter quickly and that the sculpture returns to the bridge as soon as possible, says Jarle Strømodden, museum director at the Vigeland Museum.
