The Vigeland Museum is open during the winter break! We follow regular opening hours and are open Tuesday to Sunday from 12 to 4 PM.
We have activities for both young and old:


Free art workshop for ages 8-12

Join the art workshop with visual artist and teacher from the Oslo School of the Arts, Jibril Ngoga! Drawing inspiration from Gustav Vigeland's works, students will play and explore everything from collage-based art to drawing and graphic printing techniques. Children can unleash their creativity and experiment with various materials and expressions.

The workshop is free but requires registration. There are four workshops with only 12 spots available for each. Registration is through Oslo School of the Arts.


Art Puzzle

We offer an art puzzle where children can play detectives in the museum and solve various tasks. And win prizes! Distributed at the reception.


Guided Tour

On Sundays, February 18th and 25th, there are guided tours where you can learn more about both the museum's collection and see Vigeland's apartment. The tour is included in the entrance ticket, but there are only 15 spots per tour. Tickets can be pre-ordered here.

Permanent Exhibition

The Vigeland Museum owns an almost complete collection of Gustav Vigeland's art. In our permanent exhibition, you can experience the plaster originals of the iconic works in Vigeland Park in 1:1 size, several of the sculptor's early works, as well as his famous monuments and portrait busts. In the museum, you can trace the development of Vigeland's artistic career and gain a unique insight into the place where he worked and lived during the last 20 years of his life.
